On Wednesday I turned a page. I was half awake when my parents called me and sang "en hyllning här bringar..." . I thanked and said bye and lied in my bed. I got up and started opening my big package present from Germany, by birthaday present. I was overwhelmed and excited. I knew what was inside but not exactly all. It was a sound recording system including a soundcard, mixer, headphones, keyboard and a mic. I started setting up the system immediately and was ready 23.30 p.m. I had my first very bad experiences with Mac. I had to install an old driver for my soundcard, because the latest update didn´t support the card, although it should have done that. At 2 p.m. I jogged to Bairn Street for fetching a package, sent by my parents. I ran back through places I wouldn´t like to visit late in the night. I came home. And continued my computing. I spent about 5 hours in front of the computer to sort the issue. I was very satisfied with myself when it finally was done. In the evening I talked with Seyi. She gave me a book and wondered why I didn´t answer on the phone. I had not heard the phone. That was my birthday.
On Thursday I read an article before the International Law and problems of the contemporary world order. We had a discussion in class. I performed awfully and was angry with myself. So when the time was for criticism I said my performance was by far the worst of that day. The reaction in the class very interesting. Everyone was like no and they tought I was crazy saying what I said.
I walked to the library after the lecture and returned some books that were late. I walked home and stayed home that night and made music with my new system. Nothing very good.
Friday was a very interesting day. I woke up around 9:30, maybe. Actually I don´t have the slightest clue. I ate dinner and coresponded with my mother for receipies for todays birthday dinner. I called her as well. Then me and Marco walked to Lidl and bought the ingredients for our menu: Seafood Pasta(Seafood this time only prawns), Karjalan paisti(Finnish meat dish), and cake. We carried the food home. I continued to Byres Road and bought 8 glasses, baking powder, chocolate, and some cooking utensils. I hurried back. I made an omelett with cheese and tomatoes. After eating, 4 p.m., I started prepearing for the dinner. I made the cake mixture, put it in the owen, burn it a bit in the corners and took it out. Me and Fernando started chopping meats, vegetables and potatoes for an hour. I fried the pork and beef meat and put it in a saucepan for simmering for 2 hours, with onions and spices. I started decorating the cake by covering it in whipped cream and placing peaches on it and a thin layer of chocolate crumb and then in the fridge. Marco came home and made an salad. Andrea had earlier made the prawn sauce. The vegatebles and potatoes were put in the owen and we changed clothes. The first guests arrived at 8. We had trouble getting the pasta waterboiling because the saucepan was big and thin. It was ready around 8:45. We had a small problem, the starter was not ready, but the main dish was. We ate the pasta. It was ok. Then we continued with the Karjalan paisti. Everyone thought it was excellent. Italians said it tasted Italian and French said it tasted French. So I guess always when food is good people think it resembles with something that is from their food culture. We had seven bottles of wine. We had bough 4 and 3 were brought. We ate sallad as well and more Karjalan paisti. When we were ready Seyi and her flatmate arrived. I put some more potatoes and vegetables in the oven for them. I served them and brought the cake to the table. It was much appreciated and everything was eaten. One Italian girl said I haven´t eaten meat for 3 weeks because I don´t know how to cook it. And some other girls ate as if they hadn´t had proper food for months for ages.
After the dinner we moved the table and danced to Guns and Roses, The Doors and AC DC. At 2 a.m. I served to tea to two girls still here. At 3 clock the last guests left and I fell asleep at 4. It was originally ment to be a dinner arranged for me but was actually a dinner arraged by me with the help of the others. I dont mind.
On Saturday I did the washing up. It was a lot. I studied and watched the first half of Scotland Italy. The Islay Inn was packed with men watching football. I had enough in 45 mins and walked home. I studied and slept at the same time and now I´m sitting here.

13.11 Midnight write

The last days I have felt very at home in Glasgow. I dont mean that I havent felt at home before, but that I´am growing into my shoes perfectly. I feel at home and peaceful in Glasgow. A certain amount of nervousity and caution has existed. That feels gone.
Today I had my usual busy lecture day with EU-law from 11-13 and Politics of Labour Law from 13-15. After that I went to the Queen for the first time in daytime. There is a cantine serving food. I ate a sandwich and drank a tango with a lad from the Politics of Labour Law Class. From there I resumed home. Just after I entered Flat G the doorphone rang.
-Delivery, someone said.
I pressed the button and opened the door. I signed excited. It was a very big package and for my birthday. I´m sitting on nails but wont open it before Wednesday. I´m so excited. I believe I know what there is inside. I ate noodles and sausages, a wondeful combination. I also ate a tomatoe and ketchup. After that I returned to uni for The English Litterature Society. I met some friendly new members. I came back home after discussions and a pint and got excited when I saw the package.
Sunday, I had loads of reading to do. I read until 2. I Had a quick lunch. Me, Fernando, Samuel and Marco walked to the Kelvingrove park for football. They were to many already playing. It was the first time we weren´t allowed to play. We walked to the next pitch in 5 mins and played for on for on a small field. It was fun and hard. We won. I returned had a shower and went to flat C in 53. I watched and shared the Photos with Blandine, Anna, Andrea and Konrad. Then Konrad showed me some pictures from Uganda and a country I cant recall just now. Then I walked home, about 10 meters, and read more and made hamburgers. I watched L A Confidential and ate chocolate icecream. Then I went to sleep.
On Saturday I woke early, the earliest in 2 months, seriously. It was 6:30. I was outside 53 7:15 where a taxi was waithing. I had Samuels camera, an umbrella, three sandwiches, two apples, a grapefruit and my specs in my bag. We drove to the Queen Station. There we met Floren(?), Anais, Sibyll. We were me, Anna, Blandine, Konrad and Andrea. We entered the train and it rolled out. We saw some nice scenery and I tried bread with normal chocolate, apparently french, it was surprisingly tasty. We went through Stirling, Perth, Dundee and finally came to Aberdeen two and a half hours later. It was raining. We walked to the tourist information after a cup of coffe at Starbucks. I am ashamed. Never go to Starbucks. We went to a church, it was locked. We aquired maps for free from the tourist office. We visited the Maritime museum. We walked to another place, it was closed on Saturdays. We checked in the main square, not special. From there, in the rain, we found an art center. It was quite and empty except for one room with a french painter showing his paintings. We watched them. Inside we found an empty cantine. We had lunch. It was relaxing. Suddenly children started floating in. It was break in an art group for children. When we left it was not anymore raining. We walked along King Street towards The Old City. We came to Uni of Aberdeen and I felt happy I did chose Glasgow. It felt small and soulless. We started of east towards the beach. It was surprisingly far away. We walked up a hill at dusk. We saw big ships and their lights and the city and the cirkling light of a lighthouse. We continued back. We checked out his Majestys Theatre and other stuff. Then we were all tired and entered a pub, had nachos and a couple of pints and nice socialisation for about two and a half hours. Then we returned to the Aberdeen trainstation and jumped on the train. I had a nice french course on the way back, led by Blandine. At Glasgow we took a taxi back. Tired and happy I fell asleep. Aberdeen wasn´t very nice, maybe because of the weather. The trip was anyway great fun. The company was excellent. Dynamic and like-minded travellers are hard to find.
On Friday I read a whole lot. The night I stayed at home while the rest of the flat went to a party. I wanted to sleep before the trip.
Thursday I attended the International Law and Problems of Contemporary World Order lecture. It was very interesting as usual. Thursday night me and Samuel walked to Primary for the International Society Pub night. After conversation and no money spent everyone returned except Fernando.
On Wednesday I studied the hours of light. At 8 I entered the Tchai Owna a small teaplace just next to the Kelvin River. It was a suprising place. Never to been a place of that sort. People were gathering and there was a small PA system in a corner. The teaplace was messy and home of an enthusiastic collector it seemed. I was listening to poetry with a can of excellent new tea. Someone famous did read something good. Student read more and other people as well. It was very unlawful. So refreshing.
And there was a Finn reading. It was palindromes in very Kalevala(National Epos of Finland) inspired ways. I took by mistakes his papers with the palindromes home.
On Thuesday I didn´t do anything except reading. There is a lot of mistakes in this post. It´s 12:49, Goodnight. Please comment or have your say about my life. What should I change?

Bonfire @ Glasgow Green

Yesterday I watched a very big bonfire. But before that I woke up, quite late. I hurried to class, EU-law. We had a new and inspiring teacher. I did a small group discussion, in swedish, with two Swedish girls. From there I went to the library and read about economical and social rights. At 3 p.m. I went to my bank for consultation in some financial matters. I hurried home. It was a cold day. I came home, put the yesterdays carbonara in the microwave and met up with Blandine and Steve, for the bonfire. We walked to Hillhead station where a hundred international society members were buying tickets. We jumped on the subway and got of at St Enochs and started towards Glasgow Green. It was a big wide place with lawns. People were gathering around two big screens and some tivoli inspired equipment had been set up for children. We arrived early and it was cold. At a hotdog stand I experienced something strange. The fireworks started cracking and I tought about terrorism. 10000s of people were watching the bonfire accompanied by music. It was beautiful but not so very interesting. After the bonfire I headed home. Most of the others went to a pub for more firework.
On Sunday I woke up late, around 11. I had a breakfast and felt lazy. I went to the uni around 3. I was there until 7-8. That was a magnificient Sunday. I read a very interesting article about Human Rights and their roots in the Christian world of thinking. We should not think of Human rights as something secular. There is no empirical ground either for defending human rights. Scary.
On Saturday I spent my time with Italians. But before that I went shopping. I bought two pairs of trousers. Blue they were, and the other pair very thight. Some Italians had guests from Italy. We went to the city center. Pubs and bars were packed with people. We hade trouble finding a decent place. We spent some time in Yates but ended up in Nice&Sleazy. In the basement there was dancing to some basement like music. We did some theater and creative art dancing. On the way home around 1 a.m. we made animal noises, gymnastics and running on our way home.
Friday night we walked with the same gang plus Fernando and his brohers and his friends to Ashton Lane. There I drank my second Guiness of my stay in Glasgow. It was very posh, the place. We withdrawed to GU, Glasgow University Union. The DJ sucked, it was expensive and I was in no particular mood. I walked home. Before this I went to Lidl and faire le cours.
Thursday, I had a lecture in International law and the problems of contemporary world order, as usual. I didn´t spend any money that day.
