Stars in Glasgow

 Edinburgh, Castle Square

A lovely period has taken place in Glasgow. It has been truly great. I have done so many things in such a short period. Today I have had the chance to recover from that period.

11-2 Monday. I woke up today to my alarm clock at 9. I was tired. I ate breakfast for the first time alone since Tuesday. I had to dark toasts with ham, a cup of tea and a glass of juice. At 10:15 I walked uni on order to get my paper of the Advocate general's opinion on immigration. I attended the EU lecture from 11-1 and Politics of labour law 1-3. Dr. Woolfson had once more a very inspiring lecture convincing everyone in class. It was about the Piper Alpha(oil rig) catastrophe in which 170 offshore workers died. Mainly because of failing safety arrangements, caused by the corporate greed(maximal revenues vs worker safety). I was angry after the lecture. The oil rig burned up and sank. The people who survived jumped into the North Sea the people who followed the scarce safety instructions were fried. Never has corporate manslaughter been so obviously presented for me. After the lecture I walked to the city library and renewed my one loan. From there I walked to Woolworths and bought paper, fudge and paper clips. I continued to the Uni library and asked them about my adress stop. I can't borrow anything on my own.

6-2 Wednesday. Frida and Nathalie (from here on abbreviated FN) arrived on Wednesday. I slept badly the night before. I walked in the morning to the Central station and waited awhile. I saw the coming and we greeted. It was strange to see them. They don't belong to this environment. We took a cab to Kstreet and showed them my room. We had breakfast, a heavy because they were hungry, me too. Then we walked to the uni and I showed them around the campus. We continued along the Byres Road to the Botanic Gardens. It was humid inside. We continued to the city centre along the Great Western Road. We had a look in a kilt shop. At Sauchiehall Street we had a coffee in Costa. After that we continued in shops. After the shopping it was later and we took a taxi home. We had a good dinner with tortillas. Filled with cheese, tomatoes, cucumber and salad etc.
Then it was night-time. We slept three in my room on beds and floor. Like fish in a can.

7-2 Was Thursday. We had a proper breakfast. Then we inspected the new part of Glasgow. FN didn't like it. An hour later we split up. I walked back home to get my stuff for the next lecture. They walked to the city centre to shop. I attended my lesson and afterwards talked with Fabien and Natasha about the legality of the Kosovo intervention. It was and is not legal. Fabien and me walked home to Kstreet and I called FN. I stayed home and they came home soon. We had dinner. Pasta con bacon and for dessert Camembert and honeydew melon, pears and chocolate and red wine. After that we went to the pub, the Goat, just next door. There we had a pint and walked home and fell asleep. It was not very late.

8-2 Friday. We woke up a bit earlier. We walked to Buchanan Bus station. We took the bus to Edinburgh. In Edinburgh we walked first to the tourist information to get a map. From there we walked to the old side with the castle on the hill. The weather was getting better. Even a bit of sun. We checked the castle, churches and the new parliament house. In between we went to a cafe and had tea and scones with butter and jam. Then we walked to the other side on to the hill. There we had our small lunch pack. The sun was shining and it was warm. Then we walked down on a closed footpath. We walked towards Prince Street etc for shopping. We had a walk and then decided to go to the bus station. The bus left in 5 minutes. We slept in the bus because we were dead. In Glasgow we walked back to Kelvinhaugh Street. We had my delicious hamburgers and then the same dessert as yesterday with bier and wine. We also had a round of Whiskey. From home we first walked to Rafaels Bday and from there to another Bday at 27. Then the whole flat and FN walked to Cheesy Pop. We got in and danced, drank(water) and had fun. At 2 we walked home.

9-2 Saturday. We woke up much later but were woken up by Nathalie's father calling. We didn't mind and got up around 11. We had a breakfast. Then we walked to Kelvingrove art Gallery. Organ music was played, live. It was powerful. There we had a look at the most interesting stuff(my opinion). The room with French Impressionism, Dali and Rembrandt. From there we walked to the heart of the West End and visited some amazing small bohemian shops. We tried to order a table in a good restaurant but it was all booked. We walked to the city centre and had one more cup of coffee, in the same Costa. Then the shopping started and it was too much for me. I sat down in a shop and drew. 45 minutes later, finally, we left the place and bought summer onions and bread. We walked home and ate Spaghetti Carbonara with fruit cocktail. Then tired we watched a film and looked through the pictures taken during the week.

10-2 Sunday. We woke up around 8, had breakfast and FN prepared their luggage. Then we walked to the central station and bought tickets. I entered the train. A couple before departing we said goodbye and hugged. That was that. I left the train and looked at them. The train started moving and they rolled out the station. It was over and I walked to the apple store and had a look at Logic Studio. Then I walked home and hanged around, played a good round of football and studied in the library, late. I slept again in my bed.

5-2 I have forgotten. I prepared for Fridas and Nathalies arrival maybe. Now you are up to date. I think I'll prepare something to eat and cannot be bothered to go to the EngLitSoc since there is no lecture.
