11 DAYS ! ! ! Family arrival and new hair + BLACK KEYS, supporting The Ettes
23 - Today I first woke up 5 and assisted Maria in travel preparations. Home again I slept from 6:30 to 9. I ate breakfast after cleaning my room and the kitchen and the hallway. I took cash, 20, from an ATM and walked to Yorkhill for a hair cut. It was closed for lunch brake. I walked back and entered another one called something I forgot. Hm, I'll have a look in my coat pocket. It was in the pocket of my trousers. CUSP, Chantelle D`Arcy. When entering I wasn't sure if it was only for women. I saw a man back in the salon cutting or washing hair. 5 -10 minutes I would have to wait if I wanted my hair cut straight away. I waited in a soft sofa and read my Slaughterhouse. The feeling was about the same. I felt like an earthling on an other planet. A woman was now standing in front of me and I realised it was the one I thought was a man. She washed my hair because an older woman said we will wash your hair and then cut it. Lacking confidence and perplexed by the new environment I followed her and sat down. Warm water flowed around and on my hair. I felt uncomfortable and somebody came to me and said draw in your bum and lean back. It felt better. After my hair was dry I was put in another chair. A young blond girl came to the chair I was sitting in. She reached out with her hand and said hi my name is something I forgot. She started to cut and I didn't talk but read my book. She asked something about the book. I felt uncomfortable in the chair with a woman's armpit and face right in front of my face. Chewing gum and sweet perfume smelled in the salon that was very busy. Somebody said I had a good face and I read my book even harder. It was covered more and more by my own hair. I got some hair in my mouth but didn't want to spit. So I chewed it and tried to swallow it. That's how it was when I cut my hair in CUSP. Now I am home planning to go and get money from RBS and the keys from Embassy apartments, for my parents.
22 Yesterday I woke up and had breakfast pretty late. I had toast and other stuff. I walked to uni around 12 and waited for an hour in the Law workshop for Morna Roberts. She returned an hour later and signed my exchange agreement. I walked home and read for a while on a park bench on my way home. I met Karina on the way home. At home I started to prepare an omelette for Maria and me with sweet peppers, tomato, cheese and chives. We ate it with baguette. Maria had bought two tickets for the Black Keys gig in ABC 1. I played football for an hour or so and returned and took a shower. Maria and me ate a salad before walking to ABC. It was cold outside. We entered and it was quite empty inside. The Ettes played first and the singer and drummer was very impressive. Then The Black Keys started to play. It was awesome. Very heavy and melodic riffs picked with fingers by Dan Auerbach and the drummer Patrick Carney. It was refreshing to listen not to this standard indie stuff I've been so into the last two years. I'm starting to have enough of it. In fact bands I have started to dislike in Glasgow are Kaiser Chiefs and I don't like as much anymore Bloc Party, Jack Penate and such. Editors still rule. We walked home after the concert and drank tea and Maria packed her stuff. - PICTURES COMING SOON FROM THE GIG
21 After the writing I walked home and wrote for 2 or 3 hours on my computer. Maria came to my flat around 3-4 and she made a soup of yellow peas and carrots. It boiled for a long time and we ate it during the football. Then we had some strawberries and cookies. Tasty. Then we watched the apprentice and the wrong man was definitely fired, again. I'm starting to dislike the series and especially Ris Allan Sugar.
