Elias investigates: June 2008

28.6 - Saturday - Today I woke up amazingly 8:20. That's pretty early. Still I slept 8 hours which is enough, and that's one our more than usually as well. I played a bit of GTA and then wrote on my blog until I went outside to help my father with some woodwork. We cut down around 5 trees and now cut them to firewood. We are going to eat very soon. I've also thought about painting. I haven't done that for a very long time. Well, I am not sure if I'll manage.

27 - Friday - Yesterday I took the train 7.37 to The Parliament and worked until 5:30. I left and bought a pineapple, a birthday present for Titus(bday15.4) and an icecream. I met Sebastian on the train station. We missed the train with 10 secs, and had to wait 10 mins for the next train. We got off in Parkstad and took the bus closer to his place. Then we walked to his place. There were Helene, Kjell and Thomas with Jan. They were making pizzas. I went upstairs and played guitar and chatted with Thomas. Then I helped with the food and I sliced the pineapple. It was tasty. The pizza fillings were generous and all. We ate for about three hours and then played Mölkky. Then Kubb because that's more fun. Around 11 we left in Thomas car. Seb and me got of at Malm and took the train in and I got of in Böle and took the train to Jorvas. In the train there were loads of goths coming from the Tuska heavy festival. People over 65 could get in for free. It smelt in the train of food and body warm odours.

26 - Thusday - I was working and then I came home. I ate some icecream. Titus and me were jamming for a long time and we had some good ideas. I ll try to work them to songs. It's better now

25 - Wednesday - I was working. Me and Titus cleared our footpath leading to the train station. I cut down some branches and cut down some small trees, we dug a trench and cut the grass. I was talking with Maria afterwards.

24 - Tuesday- Work during the day. Around for I took tram 10 to Tilkka and walked from there home to Helene, with her giving advice on the phone. Jan came a bit later. It was the first time I saw the flat, and she was moving out. Me and Jan started to carry out stuff from the flat. I broke a lap on the way. It was not hers but in the stairs so it wasn't too bad. Still she had splinters of glass in her bed. We drove towards east and reached Degerö. She is going to live there. We threw out the stuff. Her sister accompanied us and we drove downtown. We listened to some great music. The CD Jan and me made for Helene when she turned 20. Titles of songs: "Knicker in the mouth", Helene 9, Melon Helene. We had pizza in the trance pizzeria. Ham and pineapple for me. Afterwards we had icecream. Then me and Jan ran to the train. Home around 10.

23 - Monday - I woke up 4 a.m. in Lilla stugan(the small cottage swe). I dressed quickly and ate breakfast. Everyone else was sleeping. I woke up Titus and we left with the boat. The morning was crisp and a bit chilly. The sun was shining already. The sun was down from 24:15 to 3:15. Then it rose again. I jumped of in the inner harbour and Titus drove back to Torskär. I walked to the train station and the city was beautiful in the sunlight. A day with no people.
I got on the train and Slept for 500 km, from Vasa to Seinäjoki. I got to work 10. I worked. After work I met Thomas and Helene, Thomas for the first time since Christmas. He is in the army but his duty ends now in 5 days. We had a coffe and talked. I left after an hour and a half. I was tired. I spoke with Maria, dined with my parents and went to sleep

22 - Sunday - Around 12 I drove with Titus and Wilhelm to Vasa. Wilhelm was taking the train back to the south. We said bye and bought icecream. 10 minutes later Frida and Nathalie came to the harbour and I said hi. The last time I saw them was in Glasgow. We drove out to the iceland. We walked into the middle of the island, into the woods and talked about everything that had happened until now. Then we walked back and BBQ:ed. Sausages, not in beer Fernando, corn, courgettes. We ate it with potatoesalad and italian salad, and potatoes and a sallad with feta, tomatoes, cucumber. For desert we had sweets. We walked down to the bay and lied down there and thought about Sunday and Frida had some interesting stories to tell. Around 8 I drove them to town and said goodbye and drove back. We had a sauna and made a lot of language jokes, twisting the swedish language.

21 - Saturday. We got up earlier and I prepared breakfast. Me and Sebbe drove to Vasa to fetch a girl from a Iceland and Sebbes girlfriend. The parents said be careful your cargo is very precious. I said don't worry I am the big brother, However I don't take any responsability. We drove out. They came from Närpes, a region famous for its tomtoes and cucumbers. We ate pasta with tomatoe sauce. Then we played football, cub and burkis(swe). Around 8 they left. I heated the sauna. We had a sauna and I went to sleep. The rest stayed up and ate.

20 - Friday. After 10 hours of sleep I woke up. It was today the eve of Midsummer, the pagan celebration. We had brekfast together and we ate a lot. Me and Titus drove back to the city to buy more food. Back, then, we just relaxed. Lied in hammocks, built mini houses on the shore, played football, darts and cubb, reading books, walks in the woods, swimming, rowing and sailing. Around 5 we drove back and walked to the train station. With the train came Johan, Titus friend, who is living in U, S and A. We drove back to the island and had a sauna and ate.
We BBQ:ed. Chicken breast, courgettes with rice. For dessert we had bananas with chocolate in foil, prepared in the ember of the outdoor grill. I was the chef for everything except the rice, as you could figure out from the taste.
The traditional midsummer sauna! I made a broom of small birch branches. It smells gorgeous in the hot sauna and it great for the skin to hit yourself with it. There are some oils which are good for the skin in the leaves.
Then we slept around 1 or 2.

19 - Thusday. I woke up and took the early 7.37 to work. At work I was until 3 p. m. From there I walked to the train station. I bought a baguette. They used to be very good in a bakery at Kotikontu. Unfortunately, it was shit. They have switched the bread to a very spongy version. It was an anticlimax in my life when I took the first bite, sitting in my first class seat. I had to travell first class because 2nd class was sold out. First class is worse. Fellow travellers are colder and serious. Also people speak on the phone. I was listening to Logic samples for 2 hours. I reached Seinäjoki and changed train. An hour, after travelling in Flat Osthrobotnia I reached Vasa. The city where I had been the last two years studying. The streets were dead but the weather was sunny. Shining on the empty streets. I met Titus, Sebbe and Wilhelm in Citymarket They had bought food. I bought some sweets and we walked through the city to our flat. There I changed clothes. We walked down to the harbour and left Vasa. We took some water and some milk from a shop on the way. I also met Frida. She was relaxing in the Appeal court park with friends from work.
We sailed out and reached Torskär, the Island where our place is, in 20 minutes. There I met Emil and Cess. I had a look around. I assume it's the second dearest place in the world for me after where I am sitting now. We had a sauna around 11 and where ready 00:30. We boiled potatoes and Titus had been smoking around 30 perches. It was tasty and just the atmosphere of torskär. We went to sleep around 2.

18.5 Today I woke up at 7 and went to work with 7:37 after having eaten two pieces of bread and a half mug of tea. At work I went for the first time into the archives! Exciting, they are inside a mountain. I had lunch, the same as yesterday, but today it was better. It was fresher. And for dessert I ate apple pie icecream with apple pie accompanied with a steaming cup of strong coffee. Then I was behind the desk until 16.
I went to three shops looking for a phono - RCA connector. I couldn´t find and got home with a blue bus. Then I had dinner and I packed for tomorrow. I am going 500 km north to celebrate the traditional pagan midsummer. There will be no nights. The sun is down for three hours and at that time it's not even dark. I am going there with my baby brother and his four or seven friends. None of mine are coming, maybe some later. Now it's late and I am sitting on the floor.

17.5 I woke up early at 7 and went to work. I was behind the desk until 12:30. Then I had lunch, same as on the next day. Starter Baltic herring in mustard, tomato sauce, onion, traditionally and in garlic. Main course roast with potatoes and a brown sauce. Dessert coffee and a bowl of berries from the woods in champagne with vanilla cream.

16.5 After updating my blog I didn't do anything of interest.
