23.8. Monday - I woke up at 8.15 and worked and studied until 7.45. I walked to Nan King and met Jan there. We ate dinner there. Sebastian arrived later and passionately explained what a real hippy is.

24.8. Tuesday - I woke up at 8.15. I ironed a shirt and biked to work through a rainy Helsinki. I worked until 5. I had a baguette that I bought at a cafe at the Kaisaniemi metro station. Then I biked to Blåbärslandet and it felt like autumn. We played and lost 3-0 against Elisa, a telecom company. Then I biked home and bought some food home. I met Noora in the S-market. At home I had a chevre salad, bread and musli. Then I read for my exam. It started to rain really hard.

25.8 Wednesday - I worked the day and after work I stayed at work and studied for my exam until 23. During the day I handed in my thesis for the printing house. At that time I was really tired. I skyped with Maria.

26.8 Thursday - I woke up at 8 and had a mini breakfast and studied a bit more. I biked to uni and wrote my exam. It was in a room with a computer and surveillance camera. I was done at 1.30. Then I walked out and dumped the bike at the station. Before that I had a quick lunch at Porthania. There I met Josse and Emmi. After lunch I got my printed thesis in four copies. I took the tram home and cleaned and packed my stuff efficiently. At 5.30 Isak picked me and my stuff up. We drove to Fille to help him with moving, but he was done already. There we met Melanie, Sara, Rudde, Hassi and two others. Isak and me continued towards Jorvas via Lidl. I bought a bag of lemons. We had dinner at home. BBQ meet. Really good this time. I baked two cakes and then I went to sleep

27.8 Friday - I woke up 7.30 and took my Ambrosia cakes. 8.15 to Helsinki. I dumped the cakes at work and handed in my papers to the faculty to get my degree. I met Jan Klabbers by accident and gave two copies of my thesis to him for examination. I walked back to work and worked. At around 1 visited Terveystalo to check my mouth. Back to work and we had cake at 3. I left for the last time at 16.30. I bought some supplies for my journey from Claes Ohlson and took the bus home. At home I relaxed for the first time in a very long time and ate Laksa and read the newspapers' headlines. I biked to Kyrkslätt and it was fun. At the library I met some of my mothers colleagues and Isak and Pekka. It was the night of arts. 1 1/2 hour later I biked home. At home I started packing and planning until around 11.

Reading and working

28.8 Saturday - Woke up 10. I ate breakfast and read Helsingin Sanomat and HBL. I started packing and packed until 14. I did some cleaning, searching, loading etc. Pekka and me had dinner at 14 and Titus came home 10 to 15. We walked all together to the train station. I got on the 15.14 after saying goodbye to Titus. Pekka came with me to Helsinki to pick up my bike. We said good bye at the station and I walked to Stockmann. Hélène and Thomas were waiting. We walked together to Skatudden. I had a tea and H a coffee. Thomas talked. At 17.15 I said goodbye to them and walked to the ferry. I found the dorm room and luggage room after asking. The dorm was empty. I walked out on deck and spent my first 2 hours there. I filmed landscape, sea, city and ship. Then I walked back in and bought one shrimp sandwich, two chicken sandwiches. I bought a Fanta for 80 cents in the Tax free shop. Then I bought some sweets and withdrew to my cabin, the dorm. It was empty so I probably had the biggest but not the most comfortable cabin. I watched the film Smoke (3/5). That was done at 2. I went to sleep.

29.8 Sunday - I woke up at 8. I had only woken up once in the night when two Russians came in. But they left early because it was only + 17. I slept under my coat and piece of furniture. I packed my bag and filmed a bit outside. I had breakfast a the sea side cafe. A wonderful place. I had porridge with milk and jam. And a coffee and croissant. Wonderful. Then I rested for a while more and bought SNUS! I puck of Montecristo. Not that I use SNUS. I just thought it was a funny idea. I will treat people with it in Holland. I got my suitcase from the baggage room and disembarked the ship. Streets were closed in Stockholm because there was a decathlon. I filmed a bit more and walked through the old town. I tried to get some Izmir Kebab but I only understood after a while that it was Sunday and closed. I walked to ICA and bought food for the journey. Then I was to but a meal at McD at the station. My card didn't work so I had to get 100 kr cash from an ATM. I ate fast and walked to track 10. I am sitting on the train at the moment.

I met a musician on the train and we talked about music. He went to Lund. We passed Hässleholm. In Copenhagen I filmed a bit and ate a Kebab. Again, it was a different kebab. With real meet, that was a nice surprise. I got on the nights train. The numbers where wrong so I had to walk back to another car. I shared it with a Dutch chemistry and learned what the difference it between biochemistry and molecular chemistry. It's the same thing on different levels. More passengers got on. First a strange strange German. He kept entering and leaving the compartment constantly during the whole trip. He also tried to sit on the seat while he had a suitcase on it in the same time, resulting in a struggle that he lost in about 3o min. A half drunk Australian golf star insisted that he had my seat but could not show his ticket. I slept very badly. The angle of the seats were bad. Legs arms and heads laid around in the compartment. I think I slept for about 5-6 hours, which really was a lot. I listened to some german radio on the way. Jazz and Rock

30.8 Monday - The journey continued over the night. We passed Hamburg around 1 and it stopped for an hour in Dusseldorf to wait for some cars from somewhere else. Finally there most got of. It was only me and the scientist left. At around 11 I arrived to Arnhem. There I met Maria and his father. Maria and me took the train to the Hague via Utrecht. We walked from the station and tried to find a look but couldn't. Instead we stayed at a Chinese restaurant called Long Ting and ate Dim sum until 16. Then we walked to the flat and met Mandy my landlord and had a look at the room and flat. It looked wonderful. Then we walked to Albert Hein and made chevre pasta for three of us and it was tasty. Sorbet ice cream for dessert. Sleeping time then after some Americas funniest home videos.

31.8 Tuesday - Today woke up for the first time in the flat. I slept well after two nights of much worse sleep. Then I looked up banks and where Lidl is. Maria and me bought a look at for my bike first. Now the bike has three locks, to avoid theft. 14 something for it. Then we biked around a bit and reached a cafe. Maria took a normal coffee and I took a latte. After the coffee we biked to ABN Amro to ask questions about opening an account. I spoke with someone on a phone. It seems that I don't have to open an account. Besides my card worked at 2 of 3 places. From there we biked to the Finnish embassy and had a look at it from the outside. It's between the German and Colombian Embassy if I remember their flags rights. We biked back and had a chicken kebab at Mr. Chicken. After that we looked at some cheap shops and I bought hair wax (not in a cheap shop). It's cheaper to buy wax than cutting your hair. Then I biked with Maria on the back to Lidl. It was in a neighbourhood where only foreigners live. It was amazing. I always say Lidls are the same everywhere, but not here. This one was different. We went back and ate salad and a bit of last days pasta. After relaxing we went to the train station and Maria went back to Arnhem. I biked around a bit and went home. From the balcony at home I saw on the streets some furniture that had been thrown out from somewhere. I carried a small drawer up to my room and wiped of the dust. Good as new. Now I am here, in Chinatown.

I biked along a road that actually lead right to the embassy. I worked at the embassy until 16.30. Then I biked to Scheiveningen and got lost on the way there but biked back very well. I used the toilet and bought sweets there. At home I prepared chicken and rice and skyped with Maria.
